The Calendar of Events for the upcoming Elliott Family Reunion has just been received and posted on the site, and it sounds like it's going to be a wonderful time for all the attendees!! I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the Organizing Committee for extending an invitation for me to attend, even though I cannot claim any direct descendancy to Thomas Elliott. Unfortunately, budget restrictions coupled with the fact that I am expected to be in St. John's this December for the birth of our first grandchild, makes two trips back to Newfoundland out of reach for this year.
Information and contributions are still coming in for inclusion on the site, however they seem to have slowed down somewhat during the past few weeks. So once again, I am appealing to folks that if they have ANYTHING that they'd like to contribute, please send it along and we will post it for everyone to see. A big THANK YOU to all those who have already submitted items, and we look forward to seeing what else folks might have hidden away in their photo albums.
For those folks planning on attending the Elliott Family Reunion, please take LOTS of photos and send them along so that those who weren't able to attend will see just what they missed!! Judging from the Calendar of Events, it sounds like it's going to be an event to remember, and I am truly disappointed that I will miss out on what promises to be the highlight of the summer. I'm not sure if it's too late to register, but if you are still planning on attending and have yet to register, please contact anyone on the Organizational Committee to find out for certain.
An update to the Thomas Elliott genealogy pages was also done today, and I'd like to thank Craig and Marg Elliott for their contribution to this ongoing endeavour. If there are other folks who have family tree information for Thomas Elliott, or any other family who can trace their roots back to Port Albert and wish to post their genealogy on the site, please get in touch and I'd be more than happy to do so.
On that note, I will close my ramblings for now with a sincere wish that everyone has a wonderful time at the reunion, not to mention Port Albert Day which is happening 05 July. I would have posted it on the site, however I had some email issues with Yahoo, and only received the information last evening. Have a great summer, one and all... and please stay in touch!!
