The Written Word
It wasn't until after the arrival of the road in 1965 that electricity came to Port Albert the following year, at which time most folks opted to have the lights put in. With electricity came television and a whole new way of getting information from the outside world. Prior to that time, people relied on getting their news from newspapers, magazines, battery operated radios and telegraph. It is hoped that with time, we will be able to bring you some of those stories and news articles as they pertain to Port Albert.
