Christmas festivities continued throughout the 12 Days of Christmas, and as we hear here, activities included making Hobby Hosses, mummering, and trying to be the one to get the Snap Apple.

Oral History
There's nothing like a good story, especially when told by someone who has first hand experience with the subject matter. Back in August of 1986, a conversation was held with Mr. Cecil Mercer at his home in Port Albert, where he took the time to tell what things were like, back when he was a young boy. Sadly, Cecil Mercer passed away on 18 May 1998, but his stories live on. We would like to thank his widow, Mrs. Meta Mercer, for allowing us to bring you excerpts from that evening of chat.
At the time these conversations were recorded, there was no thought given to the fact that one day they would be placed on the world wide web for everyone to hear. As a result, the sound quality is not to a professional level, and background noises do come through, but the stories can be heard and are here for you to enjoy. There will be more stories to follow in the coming days, so make certain that you check back often!
